Saved by a Gospel Tract

It was customary for Prem (not his real name) to do house visits for sharing gospel tracts. One day as Prem was not keeping well, he did not go out to do his ministry. On seeing this, his son asked if he could give out the tracts that day. Prem obliged. His son, after asking for directions and the houses to cover that day, grabbed some tracts and set out on his journey. He usually rings the doorbell and hands over the tract to the person answering the door. In one of the houses, although the windows were open no one answered the door after ringing the doorbell. So the young boy slid the tract into the open window and went away. A few days later Prem got a call (Prem’s phone number was written on the tract) from a gentleman who said that he was getting ready to commit suicide. He said that as he was getting ready to end his life, he heard the doorbell ring and then some paper flew into the house. The Lord began working in his heart. As he began to read the tract, he felt something he ha...

Transformation Power of a Gospel Tract

This is a true incident thathappened on one of the beaches in India. Arun (not his real name) had thepractice of regularly handing out gospel tracts on the beach. However, he wasseeing much fruits of his labour as he did not see anyone come to Christthrough his work, so he decided to stop this practice. A few years later, tohis astonishment, Arun saw another gentleman, standing in almost the same spotthat he used to stand, and handing out gospel tracts to people. When Arun began toengage in a conversation with the gentleman, he came to know that this man gotsaved from a tract that was given to him at this same spot. Arun quicklyrealized that it might have been one of his tracts that got this gentlemansaved. It is amazing how the Holy Spirit works in a person’s life through thesimple words printed on a gospel tract.

What is Real Christmas?

Hollywood has done a good job in giving us the incorrect picture of what Christmas really is. Christmas has nothing to do with Santa Claus, reindeer or elves. Christmas reminds us of the day when God gave His very, very best Gift to mankind. Christmas is the day when Love came down from heaven in the form of a Baby, wrapped in swaddling clothes. Interestingly the Saviour of the world was born in a manger as there was no room for Him in an Inn/hotel! My question is this: Do you have room for Him in your heart? Happy birthday dear Jesus! Merry Christmas!!

Angelic Encounter

I know beyond any shadow of doubt that everywhere I go I am accompanied by an invisible angel. As a matter of fact, angelic encounters are not new to my family. In 1967 when my grandmother lost her daughter, she went into deep depression and refused to be comforted. An angel of the Lord visited my grandmother and told her that her daughter is in heaven; it was then that she got consoled. Angels play various roles such as worshipping God, engaging in spiritual warfare and serving God’s people. One of the other roles of an angel is to offer comfort to people.

Describing the Love of God

I can use all the colorful adjectives in the English language and try to explain Jesus' love, but might not be able to drive across the point. It is like trying to explain the taste of an ice cream; I can say that it is soft, flavorful and sweet and use all the adjectives I want to describe an ice cream, but it is of no use until and unless you taste the ice cream for yourself. The Bible says, “Taste and see that the Lord is good”. Ask Jesus Christ to reveal Himself to you and taste Him for yourself and then you realize how good He is.

Faith in an Unseen God

Some people say, "I can’t believe in someone or something I cannot see”. Well, simply because I cannot see electricity, I can’t dismiss that it does not exist. Although I cannot see it, I can see the effects of electricity. That is how God is. And more than that, it takes faith to believe in an unseen God. In a certain sense, we all live by faith everyday. We drive our vehicles, hoping every component such as the brakes and steering wheel will function fine. We take the public transport, hoping that the driver is not drunk and will take us to our destination safely. However, when it comes to believing in an unseen God, some people tend to doubt

Saved in a Bike Accident

On 1st November 2012, just like any other day, I was on my way to office on my bike at about 8:15 AM. Within 15 minutes into my journey, I had to slam the brakes suddenly as a dog began to cross the road out of nowhere. I lost control of the bike and went sliding on the road. Both of my palms and my left knee and elbow were bleeding. People started to gather around me and offered some first aid help. I was in no position to hold the handle bars, let alone drive the vehicle. Two men were kind enough to take me to my home – one of them made me sit on the back seat of my bike while he drove and the other person drove his vehicle and escorted me to my home. That was such an act of love and kindness by those two total strangers. To be able to sacrifice their time in the busy hours of the early morning is not something one gets to witness every day. I am forever thankful to those men and thankful to God that I did not suffer any major injuries as it could have easily been much worse.
